Your donation can help children with cerebral palsy access multisensory therapies where they can learn, feel, and discover the world.

Cerebral palsy is the most common cause of motor disability in children in Spain and worldwide, affecting around 40,000 children and adolescents in Spain. Approximately 25% have a severe form that impacts multiple areas and requires specialized therapies such as multisensory stimulation.

Campaign objectives
  • Create a safe, accessible, and adapted environment that facilitates exploration and sensory connection with the surroundings.

  • Promote meaningful learning through multisensory and psychomotor resources that stimulate perception, attention, memory, and communication, respecting each child’s pace.

  • Incorporate accessible technologies, such as a digital screen, to enhance interaction, expression, and understanding through adapted visual and auditory experiences.

  • Foster the emotional and social development of children through experiences of play, enjoyment, and discovery that allow them to express themselves, make decisions, and feel empowered.

  • Support the school’s educational and therapeutic work by integrating this classroom as part of a comprehensive care approach that complements pedagogical work and contributes to each child’s holistic development.

Description

There are children who, due to their circumstances, cannot run through the fields, hear the crunch of leaves, or sway with the waves of the sea. Their limited mobility prevents them from exploring their surroundings like others, yet they feel, dream, and imagine with the same intensity. They share the same curiosity to learn.

"The Classroom of Dreams" was created for them — for the children severely affected by Cerebral Palsy at our Special Education Charter School, for whom access to basic sensory experiences is not simple in their daily lives. This classroom will be designed to offer them the possibility of connecting with the world and learning through their senses. It’s not only about stimulation, but about education through sensory experience — turning every stimulus into an opportunity to gain new knowledge, awaken curiosity, and foster cognitive, emotional, and motor development. Elements that may go unnoticed for many of us, but which for these children are true gateways to learning, emotion, and connection with others.

A learning space equipped with psychomotor and multisensory stimulation materials will allow the children to work on the most essential aspects: perception, attention, body awareness, anticipation, and communication. They will learn without the need for words, through direct experience — from wonder, play, and the joy of discovery — where stimuli become educational tools. What may seem simple to other children is deeply meaningful here; it’s a real way to learn, feel, and grow.

Activities
  • Appropriate multisensory and psychomotor materials will be installed, and a large-format digital screen will be integrated as an educational and interactive resource.

  • Implementation of individualized multisensory educational sessions focused on sensory, cognitive, and emotional work. Use of stimuli to address basic concepts, and application of cause-and-effect learning through accessible resources.

  • Psychomotor sessions focused on body awareness, balance, and spatial understanding, using play to stimulate neuromotor development, attention, and interaction, with adapted materials.

  • Activities with the interactive digital screen that encourage sensory exploration and work on curricular content. Visual and interactive storytelling to foster attention, along with activities that respond to students’ actions.

Who will benefit?

The project is aimed at 28 students who receive education and treatment daily at the Numen Special Education Charter School.
