SOS Children's Villages Spain has launched urgent measures to deal with the Covid-19 crisis.
At the moment, its main objective is focused on ensuring the protection and well-being of the 1,155 children who grow up in its protection programs, both in foster care and in its eight villages. They are children who have lost the care of their parents and whose custody and custody is held by the organization and the foster parents themselves.
Following the recommendations of the authorities, the organization has been forced to suspend the physical presence of children and their families in some of these programs. But the organization's professionals continue to support all these families through different channels and channels so that the children live this situation in a positive family environment and with the greatest possible normality.
To respon to the new situation, SOS Children's Villages must adopt urgent measures that allow them to face this situation without jeopardizing the well-being and protection of their children. One of these measures is to ensure and guarantee these families, who are going through very difficult economic situations, the coverage of their basic needs for food, hygiene and health. For this reason, emergency aid has been enabled for the most vulnerable families, which are vouchers of € 15 / week / person per family unit.
This project is being funded thanks to the collaboration of Iberdrola.
